- South Carolina (Sakerlina) suffered a brief setback recently as backup quarterback Aramis Hillary was arrested on various alcohol related charges. This didn't surprise us or pique our curiosity. He's no Stephen Garcia, after all. What caught our attention was the abdication of parental responsibility in Hillary's case. No, not the damn drinking, we could care less. It's all in a name. Or specifically his brother's name, CoCo. Hopefully, CoCo is a nom de guerre. If not, shame on the Hillary's parents. IF YOU NAME A CHILD ARAMIS, YOU MUST SURELY NAME ANY MALE SIBLINGS THAT FOLLOW ATHOS OR PORTHOS!!! Proper manners & social grace simply demand this be the case. Now you've left your son as the Lone Musketeer. A tragedy, in our eyes, to be a lone Musketeer, bereft of your other brethren, all alone in the wilds of Columbia. No one really fears CoCo in the same manner they tremble at the thought of confronting Athos or Porthos. For God's sake, parents, FINISH THE DRILL!!!! And while you're at it, name the family dog D'Artagnan, just for the joie de vivre. Come to think of it, Spurrier & Cardinal Richelieu bear a striking resemblance.....

- Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples takes a good look at whether anyone in the ACC is ready to emerge on the national stage this year & the early season games that will define an "elite" ACC team. Tech is mentioned but we're not in the group of five teams from which he predicts an elite team will emerge. That's actually a pretty fair analysis in our opinion & we're fine just sneaking right into another ACC championship game. We agree with Staples 100%, what the ACC lacks as opposed to other conferences is a dominant team that is able to contend for a national championship on a perennial basis. Hopefully CPJ & his crew can rectify that.....
- Was there ever a doubt that Mike Leach is a pirate? Well, the language is certainly salty enough. If you value your pristine ears or are easily offended, you; 1) probably shouldn't be reading this blog, & 2) definitely shouldn't click here or here. Damnit, someone hire this man ASAP, if not for his prolific offense then for the material he provides for all of us to marvel at. Sir, I believe you give much too much credit to our friends in Sakerlina. The only contact with the Three Musketeers they have had came in a wrapper. D'Artagnan would evoke thoughts of how a '68 Dodge Dart GTS with a bored 340 V-8 could beat the Italians on a drag strip.
ReplyDeleteMr. Hillary is more likely named for the cologne that his mother liked. This makes more sense in that his brother's name probably is another brand (CoCo sounds like something the marketing wizards at a beauty company would come up with).
