Just in case you were wondering if this year would be any different than last at the Cesspool the answer is NO. The criminal stylings of those in red & black continue unabated. This week's culprit is redshirt
sophomore QB Zach Mettenberger, who was slapped with 5 charges after an evening at an establishment named "Flip Flops". Certainly a decided step below the glorious Flora-Bama Lounge. Well played sir, & we appreciate you keeping the U(sic)GA program in the depths to which we've become accustomed, at least legally. Once again, while your behavior might be suspect, it's the fact that you were apprehended that is the true crime here. Hope you enjoyed the evening in the county lockup:
What a sporty coiffure, Zach! We love the sideburns....
And just in case you any vague idea that the ACC was gaining any ground on our SEC neighbors? Not a chance. While we went O-fer on arrests this weekend, Mettenberger & LSU wide-out Terrance Toliver both racked up multiple charges for the SEC. In Toliver's case, even his vaunted "SEC speed" couldn't
outrun the lightning...... On second thought, Les Miles probably uses a Taser regularly at practice.....
It's great to see establishments being clever enough to use their name as a way to simultaneously advertise their dress code. I could have avoided an embarrassing situation in south metro-Atlanta one time if the club/establishment used similar judgment. I was trying to see my cousin playing acoustic shit on the patio and the doorman told me I couldn't come in with my Merrell's, I needed dressier shoes. I dumbfoundedly replied, "I'm sorry, I thought I was in motherfucking Stockbridge!"
ReplyDeleteJoe Hamilton was going to comment, but he was too f*cking stoned out of his mind.
ReplyDeleteYOu Techies just had to come up with some way to incorporate a picture of nude dudes.
ReplyDeletehttp://onlinesportsguys.blogspot.com/2010/03/reuben-houston-you-have-problem.html
YOu can always count on good ole Reuben
Quincy Carter. Enough said. My you folks in Athens are a bit testy this morning. Has the pattern of arrests begun to bother you?
ReplyDeleteEh, whatever. Even if he hasn't been arrested yet.....y'all will always have Reggie Ball....glorious, glorious, Reggie "what down is it?" Ball.
ReplyDeleteReuben Houston on line 2 sir.
ReplyDeleteHow long did you spend online hunting for "dudes in the shower" photos, anyway?
ReplyDeleteIt could've been worse for Mett. He could've held a family hostage at gunpoint because their daughter had a middle school spat with his daughter.
ReplyDeleteBut I digress. Your moral superiority knows no bounds.
If you want to see who has more football players, past or present, that are currently fugitives from justice, then fine. You win.
ReplyDeleteThe Chancellor has checked in! As to your question, surprisingly not too long. You know we Tech fellows are into that type of thing! It's the Reggie Ball comment above that really stings. Don't hate on Reuben Houston. That's some criminal enterprise he was engaging in, not just typical thuggery. I mean, 100# of weed goes a long way, even these days. Settling pre-school disputes with a gun is poor form, however.
ReplyDeleteWas happy to see Joey Hamilton welcomed back on campus last fall, sans the orange jumpsuit. Had a good pizza brawl lately, or just a tickle pile. Good thing John Dewberry never missed a bowl game for any alcohol-related incidents.
ReplyDeleteThese are college kids. They drink and do stupid things. Except for Mr. Hamilton, who was on the staff at the time of his arrest with drugs, and let's don't get into Mr. Houston and his recent (and past) transgressions....
Relax. Seriously. It was a JOKE! As we said in the original post, we realize what he did was minor. Read the post: "while your behavior might be suspect, it's the fact you were apprehended that is the true crime here." We too did stupid things on Spring Break at that age. We just didn't get caught. Lighten up, Francis....
ReplyDeleteGood point, sorry if I seem testy. Had a couple of my staff (who are Tech grads, fwiw) trying to give me grief today, throwing out terms like 'thugs' and 'criminals,' then I saw your site, and I found the ubiquitous holier-than-thou tone here (and from them) more than a bit hypocritical. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteUGA fans sure are quick to throw out that "tickle pile" comment on every blog comment roll this side of the Missouri. I've tried many times to figure both what it is and whether it's supposed to be derogatory or funny. I think it's supposed to be both, but it has about as much effect as being called a cracker or a honky by someone. I think it's supposed to infer that we fuck other dudes in the ass, but how that relates to a tickle pile I'll never understand, probably because I don't even know what a tickle pile is. Just come out and express your extreme homophobia completely by saying "You Tech guys put your dicks in other dudes asses and that, sirs, is gay." At least then it would make some fucking sense even if it's stupid and uncreative.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the picture of the Tech fans!
ReplyDeleteLucky for them they have Oregon to look up to. It's all about the O.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, why would an immobile lead footed underaged nerfherder with 2 fake ID's be popping off to the cops? Its south GA.... take your ticket honorably and no one knows about this until April. Kids.....
