Wednesday Morning Quick Hits.....

A few things we thought we'd share this morning. We'll begin with GT news and some depth chart notes:
  • sophomore A-back Orwin Smith looks in line to grab his first start as a Jacket this week, taking over for Embry Peeples. We picked Smith as a "break out" player this year so we're not surprised. He & Roddy Jones will make a fine tandem.
  • True freshman Justin Moore looks ready to handle kick off duties this week in Lawrence. Moore knocked a pair of kicks into the endzone last week, earning him the opportunity this week.
  • RG Will Jackson will miss this week's contest with a sprained knee but should be ready to go against UNC the following week. Sophomore Nick McRae is his replacement. DE Emmanuel "Too Tall" Dieke is doubtful with a shoulder injury, although he's finally out of his sling.
  • Hearing rumors that we're talking with Gary Stokan & the Chik-Fil-A Kick Off Classic about opening next season in the Dome against Auburn. Just whispers right now but we're investigating.....
Some news from Kansas:
  • Head Coach Turner Gill on Tech: "They run that spread option, everybody tunes into that triple option. That’s just one play that they run. It’s more of a multiple type of offensive scheme that they run. They’ve got a whole lot of different things that they do out of it." We expected nothing less from a former Option QB at Nebraska. Well said, sir.
  • Gill hasn't decided who will be under center on Saturday of the Jayhawks, as Jordan Webb is a good bet to see some action after Kale Pick's lackluster performance against North Dakota State. I am a firm believer in the adage, "if you're playin' two it means you ain't got one." Rumors were flying on KU message boards last night that Pick may be leaving the team.......
  • Speaking of leaving, Kansas AD Lew Perkins was so scared of us he quit before we could get to town.....Fraidy Hawk.......
Rooting interests later today.....
