Random Notes & Musings from the weekend....

The Paul Johnson testicular jokes have taken on a Chuck Norris-like quality....so we'll leave that alone for a day & report on other things seen & heard this weekend:
  • Section 223, row 13, seat 23, Bobby Dodd Stadium @ Historic Grant Field: "I'd rather my team win today than get laid for a week". An admirable sacrifice, sir, especially considering the pulchritude of your female companion. Wish granted....
a date for you this week, kind sir...?
  • F-18a Hornets. I really thought they were going to hit the Coca-Cola building they were flying so low. Absolutely kick-ass...
  • Boddy Dodd Stadium @ Historic Grant Field is so much louder than I can ever remember it! I realize that Tech is issuing more student tickets this year but it has really made a difference in the noise level. Can't wait to hear how loud we get when the Mutts come to town...
  • Derrick Morgan is the best defensive lineman we've had on the Flats since a certain gentleman named Swilling was terrorizing opposing QB's. His motor runs non-stop & he's currently 2nd in the nation in sacks while being double & even triple teamed on every play. I hope people realize how good Mr. Morgan really is. Enjoy it now because surely he'll roll on the Shabbas next year...
Best since Swilling...?
  • What propels you to 9-1 & a #7 ranking in the polls? Watch reigning ACC offensive player of the year Jon Dwyer on Nesbitt's game clinching TD run. "Gimme some butter & some syrup". It's the little things that make you great....
  • Did anyone else notice Dwyer rallying the team while the captains went out for the coin toss before OT? Leadership. But what was even better was Nesbitt. Six captains in the center of the field-three for each team. Five guys wearing helmets...and #9 in white & gold, sans lid, staring down the Wake boys like some old-fashioned gunslinger. I'm gonna look you right in the eye before I beat your ass, just so you remember who beat it. I dare you, I double dog dare you.....
A rare & welcome display of emotion from The Warrior...
  • Starting offensive tackle Austin Barrick missed the contest with a broken bone in his foot & CPJ announced Sunday that he was done for the year. Phil Smith has & will continue to fill in capably.
