Our Apologies....

for being absent as of late. Work & family obligations have kept us away too long & we're struggling to find a rhythm. We'll get a game breakdown up today as we leave for Miami in the morning. Oh, yeah, we still have to pick three bowl games including Texas-Bama. But first some thoughts from the Bowl season so far:
  • They done keelhauled Blackbeard in Lubbock. There's actually so much fact/rumor/innuendo floating around out there that we're not even sure the principles involved in the mess know what's going on in Lubbock. Two things we can tell you 1) whatever Leach did was at best dumb & at worst criminal. You choose, but he's far from blameless, & 2) some unexpected school just hit the jackpot as Leach won't be without a job for long. HBO has probably already inquired about the movie rights....
  • Is the Ol' Ball Coach a zombie? Has their been a more precipitous fall from coaching Valhalla than that of Steve Spurrier? He's just simply lost it. Watching the Papajohns.com Bowl was painful. I never thought I'd say it but a Spurrier coached team was not only offensively ineffective, they were downright incompetent. Poor fundamentals, poor playcalling, poor everything. This the same guy that brought Florida to national prominence & won an ACC title at Duke!!! Duke, for christsakes! We don't know if he's mailed it in or what but it sure ain't pretty. The curse of Daniel Snyder maybe?
Paging Steve Spurrier, paging Steve Spurrier....
  • We now have an answer for what to do if you have a "swagger" problem. Dial up some cold weather. Miami looked absolutely putrid against Wisconsin. They were about as interested in being there as we are at being in line at the DMV. Way to represent, ThugU. And is there a bigger p*%#y in college football than Jacory Harris. Even the thought of contact makes him curl up into the fetal position whimpering. It's football. You get hit. Go play badminton if you don't like it....
  • Watching Ndamakung Suh play for the fourth time this year we were yet again awed by his ass beating/toss-you-around-like-a-ragdoll/now I'm gonna play cornerback just to show you I can badassedness. Baller. The transformation process he undergoes before a game is remarkable....
Above is Mr. Suh chilling before the game....

Mr. Suh in action against Arizona....
  • Option offenses have faired well this bowl season as both Navy & Air Force put a whoopin' on their foes. Let's hope we continue the trend....
  • Finally, a shout out to East Carolina & their team building exercises. Just the thing to unite a team before a big bowl game the old "teammates brawl over the last cheesecake in the buffet line" trick. We really couldn't make this shit up.....
So we'll get a game breakdown up today.....Promise....
