- the endless wordplay available to us with a coach named Johnson & another named Groh. A sweet return to adolescence, that combination....
- Press conferences with CPJ & Groh might look something like this next season. The joy....
- When things are tough the man reaches for poetry as an answer. That should go over well....
- This strange thing called defense. We know we'll see more of it in 2010....
- The University of Virginia, clueless ass-hats that they are, will be paying Groh $4.33 million over the next two years (the remainder of his contract). So our Wahoo friends will be paying old Al to beat their own asses when we play them this year. LMFAO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!......
Hey UVA, this is what Al has to say.....
- Street cred. Bling. Phat ropes & diamond rings....
The man got chedda' & diamonds on his hand.....best take notice, bitches....
- He's a Lady Gaga fan. Who knew?
- And finally:
The 65 year old man leaping chest bump. Awkward comes to mind.....
Please share your thoughts on our new defensive coordinator......

ReplyDeleteI've been hearing lots of different people give opinions on this hire. For me, this is nothing short of a grand slam home-run, and I'd actually put this in the realm of "Hand of God" moment for the program. The reasons:
ReplyDelete1) CPJ did this quickly and efficiently. Several programs in the near vicinity with loads more cash took longer and were forced to second and third (sometimes lower than that) choices. This was a well executed hire
2) We get a highly respected coach on many levels (Belichick, Parcels, etc). This will draw us talent hungry for a chance at the league and will garner us respect in general.
3) This leaves CPJ the flexibility to just coach the offense as Groh is familiar with head coaching and should be reliable as a coordinator, especially in his area of strength
4) Great hire to teach our current coaches so that if and when we need to replace Groh, we can choose from within (read Giff Smith)
5) We already have components of his defensive scheme red-shirting.
6) We somehow managed to keep all the components from the previous regime that we wanted to keep.
7) We get all of this for the price of NOTHING!!!! This doesn't cost us a single dime! Our D Coordinator is making more than most GOOD HEAD COACHES are currently making.
8) If it doesn't work out, we dump him after two years and lose NOTHING BUT TIME.
This is a freaking Grand Slam by any definition.
We couldnt' have designed this scenario if we were given free reign to choose whatever we wanted for our coordinator...
ReplyDeleteGo ahead and try, there's no way you could conceptualize a better pick and situation...
