Actual football content....

Of course not by us.  The folks at the Clemson blog Shakin the Southland have done a fine piece on defending the midline option.  If you remember, we used the midline repeatedly at the end of the Clemson game to set up the winning score. One caution to our Clemson "friends"- FSU played both defensive tackles in the 2i technique & we gashed them with the B-back dive.  Playing your DT this way certainly helps stop the midline.  But if Nesbitt sees this & can check to the triple option you are incredibly vulnerable because the tackles have "pinched" & left a huge dive track for the B-back.   Also check out this piece on defending the inside veer (B-back dive).  And as to why we're trolling Clemson blogs....

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

HA! We went old school on yo' ass...

  1. I don't understand half of the shit they're talking about, but it sure is fun to watch all of the videos of GT burning up the field.

  2. Indeed. I will be holding a class outside of Raymond James Stadium this Saturday afternoon from 1-3. Admission fee is bourbon or beer, you choose....No doubt it's complex stuff. Glad we have smart kids playing for us...-Hash
